Our Great Grandbaby

I know you have probably seen this picture on Lew or Brett's blog, but this one is indeed a favorite of mine and I just had to include it in this post.

Here it is Wednesday and and if the events were happening as previously planned we would all be anticipating her arrival that was scheduled for 10:15 A.M. No one is dissappointed that she is already here and have had 3 days to enjoy her. I was granted a great grandmother privilage yesterday in that I was able to spend about six hours with her and Beckie as it was back to work day for the dad and grandparents. Beckie still was needing a little assistance so an extra set of hands were there to help out where needed.

We are so blessed and thankful that she is such a healthy and bright baby, and we are also thankful for the safe arrival yesterday of Kerrie and Darren's baby girl. These three babies, of Kerrie, Shannon and Beckie that arrived within a week of each other is special news for the "Young" clan. as they represent each a "great grandchild "for Marie, Eileen and Cal.

An Exciting Weekend

Our weekend started off by making our way to Weyburn on Saturday AM. Our visit there was a two fold mission, one was to attend the Weyburn Church of Christ Song Fest, but the other of course was to spend some time with Mildred and Gordon. That's always an enjoyable time, and of course even to the ROOK games that go with it.
Not long after our return home we got the call that Beckie was already at the hospital, and that the doctors where on their way. Our time of waiting for news came shortly after six that we were indeed great grandparents. It certainly was an exciting time, to say the least. She is absolutely beautiful. There is no need for me to post any pictures as by clicking on Lew or Brett's blog there is definitely some there.
We are so thankful that God has blessed Beckie and Kevin with a safe delivery, and a lovely healthy daughter, and of course our prayers will continue that God will give them wisdom and understanding as they begin their role of Christian parents.

A Sense Of Relief

If you remember or you may look back in my postings to January 15th of a deep concern we had of observing adult abuse which was against a mother by her one and only child, who had power of attorney . This has continued on in one form or another since then and months before. To be more specific, the mother has been a resident of our apartment block since 1983, and for her neighbors it was very hard to see the treatment she was so undeservingly getting. She was being denied the care of professionals that she needed. As some of you know this developed into legal council being sought for our apartment as well as her other family members; one in particular seeking guardianship of the mother. After delays, and four months later the court judge gave his ruling on the guardianship case and it was ruled in favour of the sister-in-law. This caused a consensus to be reached between the daughter’s lawyer, and our lawyer, giving the daughter until April 9th at 5:00 PM to empty the apartment and turn the keys in. However the moving van appeared here this morning and loaded the contents from the apartment.
So for those of us who have been concerned, lost sleep, dealt with the court system, we are feeling somewhat a sense of relief tonight, knowing that the mother is in care at a Personal Care Home, guardianship has been granted to one who will see that she gets the care she needs, the daughter has gone, and we here at the apartment are free from the most bizarre situation.
I thought the picture may indicate a peaceful sense of relief.
So to end my post Easter Blessings to all, and enjoy the weekend.
